Hey Sacramento lovebirds! As a couples photographer, I know that a fun date is not just about romantic ambiance – it's about creating moments that you'll remember and let loose for a bit. So, grab your partner's hand, and let's explore five fantastic date ideas that make for just that.

1) Drakes the Barn

985 Riverfront Street

This one is a great family friendly spot tucked away in the heart of Sacramento. For ones that cannot find a babysitter or simply want their children to join them. Picture this: a crisp evening, the aroma of delicious food and the warmth of a crackling fire. Drakes The Barn takes family-friendly dining to the next level with cozy fire pits scattered throughout the outdoor seating area. Additionally yard games add a playful touch to the surroundings, ensuring that both kids and adults both are having fun! Did I mention they have a HUGE craft beer selection and delicious cocktails. I've been here before with friends and with kids and both experiences were enjoyable.

2) Goldfields in Roseville

238 Vernon Street

For all the music lovers out there. The cozy venue has you up close and personal with the performers. Goldfields doesn't miss! They always have amazing bands playing. From indie bands to country to heavy metal. They have line dancing nights and a decent sized dance floor ready for your vibes. Yes technically it's not in Sacramento but the drive to Roseville is worth it!

3) The Melting Pot

814 15th Street

Where fondue becomes an art form. Where you can play with your food. This spot has an intimate atmosphere that provides opportunities for candid, heartfelt moments. Dipping foods into gooey cheese and decadent chocolate can't go wrong. Am i right? Bonus points if you feed each other strawberries covered in chocolate. Seriously though this spot can be on the pricier side but it's a whole experience.

4) Jungle Bird

2516 J Street

With tiki-inspired cocktails and decor this place will have you feeling the island vibes. When you walk in you will be ready for a rum punch and a pupu platter. This spot is cozy inside and has an outdoor patio with heating lamps. I've sat in both areas and was not disappointed. Right now they even have a fun Christmas menu of festive cocktails. The Sippin Santa for one looks delicious.

5) Turn your couples photoshoot into a date night

Honestly after my last couples session ( the photos you see in this blog) it had me thinking. This is the cutest idea for a date. You book your favorite photographer , find some cute outfits and take some fun/romantic photos together. Then afterwards you go to dinner or grab drinks or see a movie. These shots were taken off R street downtown and right nearby there was a coffee shop, fun bar called Bottle and Barlow (which btw is decorated with the gremlins theme during Christmas...so cool). Skys the limit for dates! Get creative and have some fun =)
